Picture
The Knights of St. Columba Club in Coatbridge was the venue for an inter-Province Quiz last week.

Teams of Knights from Provinces 1, (Glasgow), 3, (St Andrews and Edinburgh) and 16, (Motherwell), met to contest this new annual competition.
Victory went to Province 1, Glasgow, whose team from Council 396, Kings Park, won the new trophy, the Pat McDonagh Cup, named after a Province 16 Brother who died late last year

Brother Jonjo McDonagh, Supreme Knight of the Order, Pat’s son, on making the presentation to the winning team, commented:
“To say that my family and I are extremely proud of the Knights for their wonderful gesture in naming the competition after my father, would be an understatement.
“This has been an enjoyable evening and it is so pleasing to see Knights coming together in a spirit of fraternity and fun.

“A wee warning to Province 1 Glasgow. The Brothers from Province 16 are convinced that the trophy is simply on loan to them and they intend to bring it home to Motherwell next year.”

Bro Charlie McCluskey, Grand Knight of Province 1, said "We are delighted to have won the first Bro Pat McDonagh Cup especially as so many of our Brothers knew Pat so well.
We will certainly look after it and look forward to the challenge next year!!!!.
